What this is

A small, focused reference for people who just got a GLP‑1 prescription — or are thinking about one — and have ordinary, important questions that shouldn't require a doctor's visit or a Reddit deep dive.

When someone starts Wegovy or Mounjaro, three questions tend to surface in the first week: How much weight will I actually lose? How much is this going to cost? When do I increase my dose? Each of those has a real answer grounded in the published clinical-trial data — and that data is what GLP Index is built on.

What it isn't

GLP Index is not a medical provider. We don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe. We don't run a telehealth practice. We don't connect you to one. We have no affiliate relationships of any kind on the calculator pages — and if we ever do, they will be labelled and excluded from the medical math.

The projections you'll see are averages from clinical trials. Your individual response will vary — possibly significantly. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Always talk to your healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.

Data sources

Every projected number on this site traces back to a peer-reviewed clinical trial. We don't model. We don't blend. We don't extrapolate beyond the trial endpoints.

Dose escalation schedules come from FDA-approved prescribing information for each medication. Drug pricing is updated manually monthly and reflects estimates from GoodRx and named telehealth providers — actual prices vary by pharmacy, location, and insurance.

How we project

The weight-loss timeline takes the published mean percentage loss at each trial week and applies it to your starting weight. We don't apply a personalization model — there isn't one we'd trust. The chart shows the trial average and notes the variance from the published data so you can see where your individual outcome might land.

The dose schedule is a deterministic walk through the FDA label, anchored to a start date you choose. The cost comparison reflects current cash, GoodRx, manufacturer-savings-card, and telehealth pricing pulled in the month listed at the top of the comparison page.

How we're funded

Today

GLP Index is free and independently maintained. No advertising. No affiliate links on any calculator page. No paid placements.

In the future, we may add affiliate partnerships with licensed telehealth providers — clearly labelled, and never inside the calculator outputs. If we do, we'll only partner with providers that prescribe FDA-approved, brand-name GLP-1 medications through licensed physicians. We will not partner with compounding pharmacies selling unapproved formulations.
